Lake Powell is the second largest man-made reservoir in the US. The Glen Canyon Dam was made on
the Colorado river at Page,
Arizona resulting in this huge lake. It is on the border between Utah
and Arizona. Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Lake Powell have breathtaking landscape. The lake is
more than 400 feet deep, 150 miles long and has nearly 2,000 miles of
shoreline. Sparkling, clear, blue water laps against towering, sheer,
spectacular red-rock canyon walls and sandy beaches. There are 96 major
canyons to explore, though you will need a water craft for the majority of
them since access is limited because there are few roads. Power boats
and wave runners zip about while houseboats slowly wend their way deep
into side canyons. Boats can be rented in Page and at each of four
marinas. I recommend a party of min 6 person for a houseboat rental and
the shortest rental period is 3 days. Lake Powell Map
