A powerful and inspiring landscape, the Grand Canyon overwhelms our senses
through its immense size. The Grand Canyon lies entirely within northern
Arizona. It is 277 miles (446 km) long, up to 18 miles (29km) wide, and
a mile (1.6 km) deep. The Colorado River flows along the bottom of the
canyon, 5000 feet/1524 m below the rim. The park has two rims:
the North Rim is located south of Jacob Lake and the South Rim is
located north of Williams. Outside the boundary of the National Park on
the south side of the Colorado River there are two Indian reservations.
The Havasupai Indian Reservation lies in a large tributary canyon. For
separate entrance fee you can visit their wonderful waterfalls and
canyons. In the Hualapai Indian Reservation, the tribe owns and
operates the Skywalk what was built in 2007.
