Antelope Canyon is one of the most beautiful sandstone canyons in the World. It is located near Page, Arizona. There are two separate canyons, the Upper and the Lower Canyon. The sandstone bedrock has been carved by the infrequent but violent flow of water. Swirling, sandy wind also sculpted the sophisticated curves and hollows that vary from 1-3 meters wide by 50 meters deep. The filtering sunshine makes the colors softer and highlights the shadows. After a storm, the canyon is closed for a few days to clean up debris from flash floods.
